Christer Örtefors is a freak on bass.

Are they in my kitchen?
Thank god no.

If you like experimental guitar rock Freak Kitchen is the band for you. Ia is an incredible guitar player and also a good song writer. In some cases you just shake your head and think, how the hell does he do that on the guitar?
You can also check out some of his instrucional videos if you want to learn something, try YouTube.

I remember when I saw Meshuggah at Hultsfred. At one time a “roadie” came on stage to play some guitar and it was incredible. It was irritating that a roadie played that well. Later I found out that it was Ia that was the “roadie”

The begining left me a bit puzzled. It felt more lika an old Mercyful Fate album with a lot of distorted talking an weird noices. But when the second song started I felt a bit better.
Enter Shikari has always mixed a lot of different genres but this time it felt like it was more metal and less Drum and Base and Pop.

But don’t worry, Enter Shikari still delivers a great mixture och metal, hardcore with a lot of humour.

Listen to it on Spotify, if you like it buy it.

No…

I just didnt get that excited when I listened to their debut album. It was of course tight, with incredible instrumentalist but it las lacking something? It probably was song. I didnt get that feeling you get when you hear a great song, not once.

Sorry Joe, I love you man but Chickenfoot needs to do better than this.

Why oh why does he always fuck up the song with his crappy solos. just arpeggios and screaming bends. Arpeggios, arpeggios arpeggios, up and down the fretboard. Hey Yngwie, guess what? We KNOW that you are a fast son fo a… but give up the cocky stuff, you dnot need it.

Maybe you should have a listen to guys like Satriani, try to ease it down. Sometimes less is more.

Im talking about bands like Van Halen and Extreme. These bands are no more but i consider them as a waste of talent. Nunu Bettencourt is one of the best guitarists in the world, and u actually like Gary Cherone voice but the music is… well crap.
With that much talent in a band you should be able to write better music?

The same with Van Halen. All the musicians are among the best in the world but most of the song are… well crap.

Ok, I may be wrong, maybe I just dont understand their musical vision or something like that, but I still think tha most of the music is crap.

But man, Eddie and Nunu can play

Im to young to have been a part of the development of heavy metal in the 60-70. I may have gotten a bit of topic here but what if you could go back in tima and see the early years of Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin just to see how the Arena Rock developed. That would have been a great Journey.

The riff is impossible to play (for me), and is very thrashy.
You cant help to wonder what would have happened if Mustine would have remained in Metallica? Would there have been a Black Album and all the shit that came after that or would Metallica remained the best thrash band in the world?

Who knows? But now we have Megadeth instead.

I hade more or less totally missed them. The show was mindblowing. A 5m tall Peter Steele far front on the stage with his huge black hair and bass lit up from below and the rest of the stage more or less black. Impressive.

One of my favourite songs is Black no. 1, I think we all have had relationships like that so we can all relate.

The album Bloody Kisses is a top notch album. Songs like Black no. 1 and Christian Woman is what Goth is all about, misanthropy, misogyny, depression.

My first real post happens to be about the band Im listening to right now, Anathema.
I bought my first and only Anathema record in -95, it was the album Serenade. That was my first encounter with Doom Metal. At that time I wasnt quite ready for that kind of music so i didnt listen to it that much. I do remember that I liked the song Sleepless but thats it.

For some reason i looked it up on Spotify today and this time I was more ready for it.

The mixture of slowpaced ultrahard growl and beautiful acoustic songs like J’ai Fait Une Promesse blew me away. The atmosphere is intense, its hard, beautiful and sad all at once.

Look it up, you might like it
